I’ve tagged this post with #RUNEUAI because the biggest things I’ve learned about AI came directly from the 15 weeks I worked with 18 students and two instructors during my last teaching semester at university level. That collaboration opened a portal of discovery and sharing that was a high point of my life as an educator. Here is what Opal thinks are my top three things learned and shared about AI in 2025.
Mastering Practical Workflows with AI
The 15-week RUNEUAI programme showed firsthand how creating efficient, practical workflows with AI transforms how people work and learn. I learned shortcuts that students shared as they exhausted all tokens in their free AI accounts. I have the luxury of using paid AI services. When working with others who aren't as fortunate, I often discover workarounds I had not considered. When out in the field with students and staff, I often learn by watching (as in the photo snapped in Portugal with Filipe Santos and Leti Cenni above).
Leveraging AI-Developed Tools with Claude.ai
The big breakaway AI in 2025 for me is Claude.ai and Claude projects. At the start of the year, I set up a Bluesky Search Tool with Claude.ai. It was a quick win, highlighted the power of AI in creating specialized utilities that genuinely enhance our digital interactions.
Collaborative Innovation in Learning
After a strenuous OEB24 with instructional designer Frances O'Donnell, I didn't expect to begin a year-long collaboration with her. Frances further solidified the immense potential for co-creation with AI. Her framework linking Google Drive to Notion to smart imports with H5P is well-polished. Her workflow and power tips have put my content in front of three international audiences. I anticipate running more pre-conference workshops in 2026.
If you've experienced big moments with AI in 2025, please let me know with comments below--especially if you're using H5P to learn more.
