I am letting several agents run my life. Whoop is the first agent. When I open Whoop in the morning, I often encounter a set of questions from the Whoop Journal. It asks questions about my eating and drinking patterns, work requirements, project progress, and how many minutes I’ve journaled. I count my posting on Microblog as one of the ways I can journal. I also give myself credit for journaling by hand.
The Mama Bear of Journaling for me is my Topgold blog.
My son discovered that the Ghost infrastructure that supports Topgold.ie is very friendly to crawlers from search engines and large language models. That’s one of the reasons I like Ghost and the Ghost team. I’m also happy to support indie writing that does not use Substack. One of the painstaking tasks I will attempt in 2026 is to remove my payments from a dozen subscriptions I support on Substack. If the writers can offer me RSS feed access to their writing, I will continue supporting them. I feel like the Grinch but I’m going to cut off nine people before Christmas whose insights I admire. I’m giving them fair warning of what’s going to happen. I don’t know if I will restore payments to them because I’d rather have the money for casual restaurant settings with my two kids after school.
