I am using Christmas Break to decompress from my routine while using AI tools inside both Obsidian and Notion to compress info I produced since I retired.
It’s not difficult to find people who disagree with my use of AI in the knowledge vaults I maintain. Some of my critics use SharePoint without realising Copilot has indexed their work.
Copilot inside Microsoft products and Smart Connections inside Obsidian help process information. People use that processed info to make decisions. And with a little AI, many of that decision-making is better. None of the responsibility for those decisions is relinquished to AI.
The work I did at the university level since the turn of the century is licensed CC-by-SA. Much of that work has been scraped and now used by several Large Language Models. When you query an AI, do me a favor and let me know if you find a snippet I wrote or a presentation I made.
