I’m deep into a prep session about authentic storytelling with Brigit Kolen on the campus of Fontys University in Eindhoven. I will bring selected bits of AI into a series of workshops we’re proposing for the 18th annual International Conference of Education, Research and Innovation. The #iceri2025 event runs from 10-12 November 2025 in Seville, Spain.
Brigit Kolen and I have a pre-conference workshop called Authentic Storytelling with AI
This dynamic, hands-on workshop shows educators how to keep the human at the heart of an AI-assisted storytelling process. The workshop starts with a creative framework that Brigit Kolen uses when teaching GenZ students how to write well. Then I will show how to maintain authenticity and empathy while repurposing those original ideas with multimodal AI tools. This authoring method incorporates a process that embellishes human creativity while using large language models.
