Here in Ireland we can see how US media simply lets politicians lie directly to viewers and listeners. In his 16 December press briefing, Trump claimed that because Biden allowed the use of US-made ATACMS inside Russia, North Korea deployed troops to fight in Ukraine alongside Russian forces.
But actually those North Korean troops had been deployed weeks before and they were alongside Russian detachments, spotted by satellite on October 23. Biden did not lift the ATACMS restrictions until November 17.
America permits Trump editorial license on so many things. The man sees the world in an upside-down reality, and no one interrupts him. He operates at a new level of gaslighting and half of the US electorate just sits there, willing to pay for his Presidential flavour of reality television.
