I teach several different groups of people how they might use AI and most people are surprised when they see AI is more than a smart search engine that can write content for social media.

Here are some of the tasks helped by AI that people have shown me.

  1. Summarising pre-reads for meetings.

If you save important reading material into a ReadMe folder, then AI can scan past meeting notes and summarise action items from call recordings and transcripts.

  1. Conduct sentiment analysis.

We use AI to sift through social media posts content to determine what content works best with different sociodemographics. Sometimes the colour of hair or an emoji that makes a difference.

  1. Conversing with an imaginary person.

We already have customer profiles of people we want to pull into a sales funnel. An AI can pose as an imaginary person and we can chat 15-20 minutes with it.

  1. Custom GPT for decision-making.

Once you buildg a go/no go application that incorporrates your skills and interests, you can let the AI decide on whether you should bid on a project that is available for tender.

  1. Scraping business intelligence.

You can often deduce what a competitor is going to do by scraping info from websites and social media content. Perplexity can scrape content and then its LLMs can be asked specific questions about strategy a d market influence.

  1. Ask the AI about strengths of proposals.

You can put the PDF of your proposal into a browser tab and then ask Copilot specific questions about whether your proposal meets funding criteria.

I teach several of these scenarios during hands-on AI for Personal Productivity training sessions.
