I’m experimenting with transcription services, starting with the bog-standard YouTube transcript while listening to Euro Python discussions shared by Chris Reina.

Chris was with MakerMeet.ie at EuroPython 2022 in the Dublin Convention Centre. He described the work he does, providing Maker-Led workshops, STEAM workshops, and day-long events for science, technology, engineering, art,s and maths teachers. He works with students of all ages.

“Certainly python as a language is an incredible language. It is very simple to get into and use. It encourages people to try to use it as well."

Chris pointed to an arcade game–old-fashioned but still very playable and fun. “Behind this game is the idea that students and young people would be able to create something like this very easily. This kind of sums up the ethos of maker meet."

Maker Meet also uses Raspberry Pi and the Makey Makey Workshops. There are elements of math in every step of the way.
